Helping to Power Ontario's Grid!

The world's concern for global warming and the effects greenhouse gas emissions are having, and the concern about the future supplies of fossil fuels, has sparked new interest in renewable energies. One only has to surf the internet or watch their favourite news channel to realize the world needs renewable energies, now more than ever. Europe is leading the world with their efforts to combat global warming by increasing their renewable energy consumption to 20% by the year 2020. More countries are beginning to follow the European example by developing their own power changing initiatives.

The Benefits of Solar Energy

For centuries, we have been trying to harvest the sun's rays and convert them to usable energy. This 'golden gift' we call the sun, is a never-ending energy resource that now, more than ever, is being recognized for it's ability to power the world. The benefits of using solar power are obvious:
  • the amount of air pollution is decreased
  • there is no impact to the natural environment
  • no carbon dioxide is emitted, therefore global greenhouse gases are reduced
  • solar power is quiet and requires low maintenance
  • return on investment is guaranteed through government programs
  • provides energy self-reliance
  • increases home/building re-sale value
The Ontario government is committed to developing new sources of renewable energy to generate electricity. The government has set a provincial goal of 5% of all generating capacity to come from renewable sources by 2007 and 10% by 2010.
In the next 10 years, Canadians need to double the number of nuclear reactors, solar panels, windmills, hydro-electric dams and other energy resources, otherwise we will be buying electricity from the United States at a much higher cost, to make-up for the shortage.

Upper Canada Solar Generation Ltd.'s mission is to be a part of this new energy revolution by providing an array of tested and certified products, and a team of experts and professionals to assist with the planning and installation of small, medium and large-scale customer projects.
